Research and innovation are key to the foundation’s long-term vision to bring relief to the sick and needy. We express our commitment to scientific progress by supporting medical research projects with preventional, diagnostic and therapeutic goals, with the aim of developing new drugs, treatment protocols and biomedical technologies. Cancer is one of the themes we focus on, financing research into specific applications for combined immunotherapy treatments. A project currently underway in the field of skin cancer sets out to enhance the potency and applications of existing drug compounds, to prevent drug resistance commonly observed in patients and followed by a relapse. The study will involve testing the safety, dosages, efficacy and side effects of the innovative combination therapies.
